Market Manipulation

Understanding gold and silver prices is the key to unlocking the mystery of fiat money.
Gold and silver have a 6000 year history for their use as a currency, and until the last century, the price of gold and silver maintained a healthy valuation ratio of 1 ounce of gold to every 15 ounces of silver. This purchasing power ratio is strengthened by the fact that there are 17 ounces of silver for every 1 ounce of gold in the earth's crust, although physical silver stocks have dwindled, as the metal is used in a wide variety of industrial applications.
Gold and silver coins

Gold And Silver Prices: Historic Purchasing Power

It has long been said that an ounce of gold will buy a custom tailored man's suit. In the 1930s, an ounce of gold cost $35, and a suit was nearly the same price. When you look at gold prices today, gold trades for $1150 and a custom suit does as well. Even thousands of years ago, the best clothing cost one ounce of gold, or 15 ounces of silver. Gold and silver prices are intrinsically tied together; however, manipulation in the price has made silver trade at an artificially low ratio to gold.

Market ManipulationMarket manipulation

The gold and silver spot prices are highly manipulated by the trading of “paper metals.” Paper metals are any instrument that is not physical metals, such as options, futures contracts, exchange-traded funds or even precious metals “accounts” which hold gold and silver for their clients. (Most precious metals accounts hold futures, not physical metals.)
Paper metals increase the amount of silver derivatives while diluting the amount of demand for gold and silver, ultimately depressing prices. If an investor wishes to buy silver as an investment, he or she can do so through a variety of vehicles. However, there is only one way to own silver: by buying physical metals.
Manipulation of silver and gold prices isn't just perpetrated among small investors, however. When gold and silver prices increase, central banks around the world “lease” gold to investment banks, temporarily increasing the supply and pushing down prices in an effort to mask the value of precious metals as a store of wealth and as a currency. Of course, it is in the central bank's interest for consumers to use paper currency to buy and sell products instead of physical metals. Therefore, discounting the uses of precious metals and their value is the best way to keep consumer's eye on paper currency. The involvement of the central banks goes beyond metal leasing and into money supply as well.

How to check whether its a fake or real coins......

Ok everyone here are some gudelines to differetiate fake or real........

Visual inspection and Weight per Volume method
  • So if you know the coin/bar volume, you can determine the weight for it to be silver.  In practice just take an existing silver coin and compare it with new coins. If the size and weight match, this is a good indication that the coins are genuine.
  • 2 other good points to look out for:
                    i.            Coin edges should be reeded, i.e. grooved lines encircle the perimeter of coins. Reeded edges were originally added to coins to prevent clipping and counterfeiting.
ii.            The quality of the coins finishing: genuine coins have a distinctive sheen to it that is neither too harsh nor too dull-looking.
  • If you don’t have a comparable item, you can compare the coin / bar specifications (size and weight) with the item in question.
  • After handling silver bullion for a while, you will develop an instinctive feeling for genuine silver.
  • Tip, if you have known silver coins, bring them along when purchasing coins and use them as a comparison.
  Weighing the silver coins
Weigh the coins as most fake silver coins are made from metal alloys that weigh less than genuine silver.
Please be aware that some coins will have very small variations in weight due to the production process but will always be at or above 1 troy ounce.
Canadian Maple Leaf coins, for example, might vary between 31. 10 and 31.45 grams as some coins contain a fraction of a gram more silver due to the production process.

 Silver Testing Kit
There are some convenient silver purity tests using acid that react with silver.  It is difficult to obtain these in Singapore as they cannot be shipped by air from USA and are poisonous. Such tests are also likely to leave permanent "test marks" and effectively only test the surface of the coin.

The Prophet (PBUH) and The Collapse of Paper Money

The Prophet and the collapse of paper money

I came upon this part in a book called "Jerusalem in the Qur'an" by Imran N. Hosein there's a section that explain what is going to happen to OUR MONEY.....

CHECK IT OUT.....

It is also a matter of absolutely critical importance that Muslims should carefully
study the prophecy of the Prophet (‘alaihi al-Salam) in which he has prophesied the
collapse of artificial secular currency (i.e., paper, plastic, and electronic money, etc.):
“Abu Bakr ibn Abi Maryam (ra) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: A time is
certainly coming over mankind in which there will be nothing (left) which will be of use (or
benefit) save a dinar and a dirham (gold and silver coins).”
(Musnad, Ahmad)
That prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) is about to be
fulfilled. Today’s monetary system uses ‘paper’ to make ‘money’. That is a manifest
fraud! Artificial money is quite different from real money. Real money has intrinsic
value, while paper money has none. Its only value is that conferred upon it by market
forces. Its market value will last only for as long as, and to the extent that, there is
public confidence in it and demand for it in the market. Demand is itself based on
confidence, and confidence is something that can be manipulated (as Malaysia’s Prime
Minister has now recognized, and as Indonesia has recognized too late). So long as
governments controlled the so-called free-currency markets, they could intervene to
protect public confidence. But the currency market is now controlled by the most
vicious of all speculative forces, forces fueled by compelling greed with no loyalties.
Anything that seriously disturbs market confidence will cause the speculative
stampede that will fulfill the prophecy of the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam).
The collapse of money in what may best be described as a ‘money meltdown’, will
witness the final success of the European (who became Jews) in their more than a
thousand years of struggle for Jewish rule over the whole world. Those who have real
money will survive the meltdown, while those speculators who successfully exploit the
collapse will make the greatest profits ever. The masses will lose their wealth and be
enslaved. They will be caught with worthless paper parading as money. That is the
financial holocaust that is certain to occur.
Others as well, beside our blessed Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), are now
predicting that financial meltdown. Judy Shelton, for example, uses it as the very title
of her excellent book entitled: “Money Meltdown: Restoring Order to the Global
Currency System.” (New York, The Free Press, 1994). We should not forget, nor
allow the world to forget, the dramatic, ominous, and unprecedented collapse of the
US dollar in January 1980 when the value of the dollar relative to gold fell to
approximately $850 for one ounce! (In 1971 it was $35 an ounce. Its present
‘managed’ value is kept within the range of $280 - $380 per once.) This collapse of the dollar took place in the immediate wake of the successful anti-Western Islamic
revolution in Iran that gave control of the vast oil resources of Iran to an anti-systemic
Islamic government. A similar collapse occurred in 1973 just after the Arab-Israeli
war and the imposition of an Arab oil embargo on USA. The US dollar fell in value by
a massive 400% from US$40 for an ounce of gold to US$160.
In fact the collapse of the International Monetary System would occur when the
Jews consider it opportune to bring down the US dollar. They can do that at any time
since the US dollar made of paper is manifestly fraudulent since it is essentia lly
worthless. When the US dollar collapses it will bring down all other paper currencies
in the world. The major beneficiary of that collapse will be the State of Israel, since it
is those who control banks who would now control money. Governments will no
longer be able to issue money. Rather it is banks (controlled by Jews) that would now
issue plastic (i.e., electronic) money! That money-meltdown will, perhaps, take place
when Israel launches its major war against the Arabs and then successfully defies the
entire world. That successful display of military and political power together with the
new financial control that comes with the collapse of paper-money would deliver to
Israel the status of being the Ruling State in the world. This writer believes that that
event is likely to take place within the next five to ten years or even earlier. Already
Israel has successfully defied the President of USA who demanded on several
occasions that Israel withdraw her military forces from Palestinian towns she occupied
after a wave of Palestinian ‘human bombs’ took a heavy toll of Jewish lives.

Hope its a relevation for all of you...

Tremendous Silver Gains to over 29 US$ per oz...

Hi everyone, here some information that I would like to share....

Enjoy.......

The last month has seen tremendous silver gains to over 29 USD per oz followed by a fall back to 25 USD and is now hovering around 27.50 USD. During this time a number of important events have occurred that support the case for silver.

Among these:
  1. The FED Announced $600 Billion more in QE. Quantitative easing (QE) amounts to massive USD currency creation which is used to purchase US governmental bonds. This amounts to a continued and deliberate value transfer from holders of USD to borrowers. it is not a surprise that this announcement caused silver to soar as more investors and USD holders seek a solid alternative to the USD. Condemnation by US trading partners and USD debt holders such as Germany and China has also become more vocal.

  2. JP Morgan and HSBC are facing a class action lawsuit under the Commodity Exchange Act and the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO)Act for manipulating silver futures. JP Morgan in particular is holding very large leveraged naked short positions in silver which, as claimed by the suit, were used to manipulate the silver price. In other words they sold very large amounts of paper silver (there was no physical silver involved as the paper silver amounts are many times larger than exchange physical reserves) in such a way to cause sudden silver price drops and force small investors to sell their paper silver due to margin and stop order limits.

We had a poll What best describes our thoughts on the Andrew Maquire, CFTC and Price Manipulation and articles on this subject back in July 2010 when silver was trading around 18 USD.

This investigation is relevant because of the scale of money involved and because it has the potential to cause a "short squeeze" as the increasing silver price and the publicity caused by the lawsuit might force JP Morgan to close their short position (by buying silver futures and reducing their silver debt to limit their losses).

  3. On a separate note: we were told by industry sources that large silver short position in Asia have been closed causing some of the rapid price gains

SO SILVER IS BECOMING STRONGER....
Act FAST..........

Why diversify your investment with silver?

This is a bit of info that hopefully will be useful for all of us.

For the average investor, silver can be an effective means of diversifying investment assets and preserving wealth against the ravages of inflation. Silver, like gold, has served as a form of money and a store of wealth for 5,000 years.
The price of silver is determined both by its role as a financial asset as well as industrial demand trends.
Although the value of silver may vary, it has an intrinsic value that is immutable and permanent.
Accordingly, many experts suggest that investors should include it among their investment assets.
Why? Because silver can be an important store of value. For example,
between 1971 and 1981, the U.S. dollar lost more than half of its value, while silver prices rose nearly five times. But what about the future? No one knows for certain; but many financial planners still suggest including silver among the investments of their clients.
Silver typically lags gold, then plays catch-up, resulting in highly leveraged investment opportunities.

How to Invest in Silver? Many investors prefer silver mining equities to direct ownership of silver buillion, in part because they seek the greater potential returns equity investments offer them. In addition to investing in silver mining companies, investors buy silver bullion in the form of official coins minted by US, Canadian and other governments.

So act FAST, I have a few minted silver coins available CANADIAN MAPLE LEAF(Royal Canadian Mint), SILVER EAGLES (US Mint).

Facts & History of Silver

Silver Bullion Coins Hi guys, today I would like to chare about the history and facts of SILVER....

Often considered the "poor man’s gold" silver has been climbing the investment and demand charts since its discovery thousands of years ago in Anatolia, now modern day Turkey. Silver’s unique properties make it ideal for thousands of applications found in every day life.

Silver is:
  • The best conductor of electricity of all metals
  • The best conductor of heat of all metals
  • The most reflective of metals
  • A powerful anti-bacterial & anti-viral agent
  • Malleable and ductile
  • Valued for its beauty
Silver is found today in mines around the world; the top producing mining countries are Peru, Mexico and China.

HISTORY OF SILVER AS CURRENCY
  • CA 2500 BC Silver was 1st introduced in Egypt and was considered more valuable than gold.

  • 475 BC
  • China was the first country to monetize silver.

  • 775 AD
  • "British Pounds Sterling": in approximately 775 AD the Saxon kingdoms issued silver coins known as "sterlings", 240 of them being minted out of one pound of silver. Large payments were reckoned in "pounds of sterling" later shortened to "pounds sterling."

  • 1072
  • After the Norman Conquest, the pound was divided for simplicity of accounting into 20 shillings and 240 pence or pennies.

  • 1497
  • Spanish "Pieces of Eight" were coins first struck in 1497 containing a high silver purity and weight. They were the basis of the monetary system of the Spanish Empire and were widely circulated around the world. They were accepted as legal tender in the US until 1857.

  • 1600’s - 1900’s
  • The Mexican Peso evolved into one of the world’s strongest and most widely accepted currencies due to its silver content.

  • 1800s
  • By the mid 1800s, China through trade and mercantilism, was in possession of 50% of the world’s above ground silver. The British sold opium to China in exchange for tea, silk and silver – a factor in the Opium Wars between Great Britain and China during the mid -1800s.

  • 1930s
  • Silver was used as China’s official currency until the 1930s.

SILVER APPLICATIONS

  • As the best conductor of electricity, silver has a multiple of uses in switches, contacts and fuses in electrical appliances, automobiles and electronics such as computers, TV’s, DVD + CD players and cell phones.
  • Chemical reactions use silver as a catalyst; approximately 700 tons of silver are consumed annually in the production of plastics.
  • Mitsui of Japan is developing a catalytic converter for diesel engines using silver as opposed to platinum or palladium.
  • Billions of silver oxide-zinc batteries are produced annually for use in watches, cameras and small electronic devices.
  • Invisible silver is a thin coating of silver on double thermal windows. This coating not only rejects the heat from the sun, but also reflects internal heat inward.
  • As the most reflective of metals, silver is used in specialized optical devices, automobile windshields and for both commercial and household mirrors.
  • Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, wrote that silver had beneficial, anti-disease properties.
  • Wealthy, ancient Greeks, Romans and Phoenicians stored their wine, water and oil in silver jugs to maintain their freshness and prevent spoiling.
  • Silver compounds show a toxic effect on some bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi. Health and medical applications of silver are wide ranging and its uses include dressings and ointments for burns and wounds, anti-bacterial pharmaceuticals, coatings on hospital implements and surfaces, to name a few.
  • Silver is being used to treat wastewater and to treat streams containing radioactive and biological contaminants.
  • Silver is increasingly being used for water purification and as an anti-bacterial agent in swimming pools.
  • Clothing is being manufactured with silver impregnated fabric to kill bacteria and fungi in order to reduce disease and odour. Military uniforms, sporting wear and everyday clothing are now produced that contain this special fabric.
  • Recent research shows that silver also promotes the production of new cells, increasing the rate of healing wounds and bone.
Ok guys hope this info have been useful for all of you.... Have a great day...

Highly informative and latest videos from Mike Maloney, one of Rich Dad’s Advisor

Hi there everybody, watch this 2 video which changes my life and started me investing in Silver..... enjoy...

Mike Maloney on deflation, GOLD and SILVER check it out:

If you’re like me, concerned about preserving your wealth (whatever amount that you have in the bank) – tangible assets such as properties, gold and silver are the only way to go! Paper cash and paper-based investments are rubbish!

I get my supply of gold and silver from the US, in the form of bars and bullions, buying at spot price. I only trade assayed and worldwide-recognized brands such as American Eagle, Canadian Maple, Austrian Philharmonic, A Mark and Johnson Matthey. Multiple denominations are available from 1 oz to 1 kg.

I’ve been doing this on the side and I feel that with the impending financial tsunami on the horizon, I’m compelled to share this info with all of you and get more people to “survive” the disaster by saving REAL money in the form of pure silver.

Here’s a GOOD NEWS – through this channel, you can buy gold and silver below the daily market price! You can start little and don’t need a lot of money to buy – an ounce of silver coin is only about SGD44!!! So take action NOW and do something to protect your financial future!

TAKE NOTE that this is NOT a form of silver investment offering you a fixed % income every month. This is purely a trading transaction and you keep the gold/silver in a safety deposit box or in a hole under your house.

Why Buy Silver?

Why Buy Silver Bullion

Hi there guys, I came upon this article about "why buy silver bullion?" its very good.... hope all of you enjoy....

Why buy silver bullion indeed! The value of silver is on a steady increase and some even say that it will one day approach the same price as gold. This may or may not be the case but it is sure that, with the shortage of silver and the great demand for more supplies the current trend is sure to continue.

One of the best ways of buying silver is as bullion. Bullion is silver coins and silver bars. Currently these are easy to buy for most people and you can buy a respectable one kilo silver bar for not much more than the current spot price of silver.

Silver bullion can be classed as either pure silver coins or pure silver bars. In both types there are a variety of sizes and weights.

Coins are a good way to collect silver and, apart from the joys of just being a coin collector, there are some good investments to be made by buying certain silver coins. Usually one is looking for proof coins that are 99.99 percent pure silver. There is a premium to be paid for this, however, as the coins have to be struck and the mint, as well as any dealer if you are not dealing directly with the mint, will want to make a profit on the sale.

Coins are usually legal tender in the country for which they are intended so they tend to be tax free. Tax free in both in the purchase and in any subsequent sale. The exception would be a professional dealer of course.

Silver bars tend to be a bit cheaper provided you buy a reasonable sized bar. Buying a one ounce silver bar is likely to attract a handling charge or premium also out of proportion to the value of the silver in the bar. Buying a one or more kilo bar will reduce the premium dramatically. However there may be a question of tax when it comes to sell, particularly if you make a fabulous profit on the deal. One would be wise to consult with one’s financial advisor in such matters as each person's economic situation is different.

The question then, 'Why buy silver bullion?' would seem to be answered in that silver seems to have an excellent future and it would be wise to take advantage of that.
